Newborns

FAQ

When should I book a newborn session?

The best time to photograph a newborn is when baby is 7-14 days old. I recommend booking a session as soon as possible to ensure you are able to get baby in during this age range. Many of my clients book a date within one week of their due date and if baby comes early or late, we can attempt to reschedule.

What if my baby won't sleep or won't settle on the day of the session?

Believe or not newborns have rough days too... If baby can't be calmed down after 1 hour, we will reschedule for another available day. If baby is calm but won't sleep, that's quite alright, we will capture baby awake, sometimes I get the best shots with amazing eye contact while baby is awake.

Do you have props & outfits or do I bring my own?

I have all the outfits, hair bows, wraps and props needed for the session. But if there is a special item like a blanket, a hat, a toy, or outfit that you want to have pictures of with baby you are welcomed to bring them.

Can newborns be photographed at an age older than 14 days old?

Yes, they can however they get less flexible as they get older therefore I may not be able to pose them the same as I would a younger baby.

I have other children, can they be included?

I welcome you to bring your other children and your spouse to be a part of the session with all my packages except the Baby Bear Package which is designated for baby only. Sibling shots can be the sweetest to capture.
